I had them perform an inspection before buying a car. They found a few things, including one that would have been very costly down the road. The warranty of the car covered the costs, and I am thankful that my inspection was done so thoroughly. Very professional and easy to work with. I'll be a return customer for sure.

My husband’s truck wouldn’t start and we had it towed to Ace Auto Repairs. I had never heard of them but they were listed on our insurance app as a company where the tow truck could drop off our vehicle. My check engine light came on and the code indicated my catalytic converter was bad. I took my car in and Zach gave me the best quote I could find for the work, but he also said I should try a $10 fuel addative that is supposed to clean your emissions system (you can get these at any auto parts store and probably elsewhere) and that it might fox the problem. Sure enough after adding it to my gas and driving 50 miles the check engine light went off and my car is working great. Even though I didn't have service here yet I can say Zach and Ace are very trustworthy, helpful, and kind and I would definetly recommend them.

Trustworthy, fair, transparent, a good value, and friendly. I relied heavily on the fantastic reviews when deciding to trust this shop for my repairs. I was not disappointed. The entire staff was lovely and never showed a ounce of frustration with my questions. Everything was explained clearly to me, recommendations were made with honest 'time frame to fix' assessments, prices were fair, repairs were done in a timely manner, and my vehicle runs like a dream again. I do not live in this area, but my adult child lives here and it is centrally located to the area in which I travel full time. I fully intend to make this amazing repair shop a 'go to' whenever I am able to plan any work I need done. Starter went out on my almost 20 year old Explorer. A buddy I was with at the time had previously used Ace and called them up while I was calling the tow truck. This was past business hours (ended up getting towed there roughly 10pm), but they have a dropbox for after hours, so I left my keys in there (I would suggest moving the box inside and installing a mailslot-like drop off because people like me being paranoid to leave my car and keys in a box outside).I called a buddy who is a mechanic before I brought it to Ace, who quoted me JUST to fix the starter over $600 "at best". Ace did it way cheaper. Zach called me and ran down a HUGE list of things that need doing (it's an old beater), but then went back through and told me what was immediately necessary, what could wait for later on, and even what "isn't a safety issue whatsoever". He found some issues that were going to be upcoming and present problems for me in the near future that I'd have had no clue about otherwise.Ace replaced the starter wires (starter ended up being fine, but the wires completely broke), serpentine belt, fixed an oil leak, did an oil change, and replaced my wiper fluid pump motor. Diagnostics, parts, and labor for ALL of this cost less than the $600 my buddy had given me. Plus (WAY more important than price to me) they were honest, gave me options, didn't try to charge me for things I didn't need, and did all of this at a fair price.They originally estimated the car to be ready on Tuesday (I dropped it off 10pm Wednesday night, so just under a week), so it was a bit of a wait, but I will chalk that up to every shop being super busy lately. Though it was a bit longer of an estimate, they met it, gave me updates and kept me posted, and even hung around for a few extra minutes when they knew I was coming but got caught in traffic and showed up 15 minutes after closing.They're a little hard to find, as they're a pretty small building in a residential neighborhood, but I will never be bringing this beast (or my soon-to-be replacement) to anyone else.

They were unable to fix my issue, so called in a specialist that was also unable to take care of it. Ace did not charge me anything, but the specialist still did-nearly $300 for nothing. Ended up going to the dealer that was able to fix it. Called Ace back a little frustrated we had been charged for no successful work. They reached out to the specialist and got us refunded. Very appreciative of that, but feel like it should have happened in the first place without us asking.

Update: I bought a 2015 Roush RS1 Mustang brand new. I wanted some more power out of it. Zach at Ace gave me some really good options as far as bigger turbos, cooling, and supporting mods. We went with a great new design and it ended up generating 275hp ABOVE stock. It ran amazing despite me beating it up on the track. Whenever I had any issues, they took care of it the same day. They also fixed issues that another shop caused. They spent a lot of extra time on it and was even there working on it over the weekend. The prices are still really good! Great service, and I wouldn't trust anyone but them with the car. The car makes a ton of reliable power and I couldn't have done it without their help. I will never take my cars anywhere else but here.2010 Lancer Evolution:Ace Auto was absolutely fantastic! I had a boost leak on my 2010 Lancer Evo and i couldn't find it. Even after spending hours under the hood I still couldnt find the leak, which was keeping my turbo from spooling up properly. I finally gave up and tried calling around to a shop that could get me in to look at it the same day, which happened to be a Saturday. I called 9 different shops and they all said no way. I called Ace and they said we could definitely fit you in today. I took it down, and was very pleasantly greeted. They got the car in the shop and we went to get lunch. During lunch they called and said they had already fixed the problem and its ready to go. I couldn't believe they fixed the issue in less than an hour. Zach gave me the pricing up front and was honest. I got there, paid the exact number he told me and we were all set. The car runs absolutely amazing now! I have found a new mechanic shop to take my performance cars and my SUV too from now on. Zach at Ace Auto is a rockstar. I ended up with a punctured fuel tank after hitting a rock in BCC......drove my car immediately to Ace Auto as it was one of the only auto shops open on Saturday. They immediately put my car up on the rack, diagnosed the problem, and helped me through the process as quickly as possible. It did take about 2 weeks once I was approved by insurance and whatnot to get my car fixed. I live in Colorado and flew back out on a Sunday to retrieve my car and drive it back. Zach (on his day off) met me at the shop at 8:30am on a Sunday so that I could get my car back. Never have a had an experience this easy and seamless than with Ace Auto. Would recommend 15/10 to anyone who needs car work done in the SLC area.

I highly recommend this shop, and do so regularly to my neighbors and friends who live in the area. I've had them do major work on my old 2004 Honda CRV with +140k on the clock - complete compressor failure repair a few years ago (check your refrigerant level annually! ) and recently replacement of front and rear struts. I have also had them do the annual service on this old car for several years. They are there for YOU and your CAR and understand what it takes to get customers to come back.

Was going to purchase a vehicle out of state in Utah, as I live in Seattle. Called Jake and he was able to set up a time within 24 hours to perform an pre-purchase inspection on a vehicle on a used car lot nearby. He was able to retrieve the vehicle from the dealership, perform a thorough inspection of the drivetrain, drivability, interior, exterior, and answered all of my questions in the detail that I requested. Furthermore, he took many pictures of the exterior, undercarriage, and interior of the vehicle that the dealership did not photograph well. It turned out that the car was in far worse condition than I expected given the dealership's pictures. Unfortunately I was unable to purchase the car due to the condition, though I was happy that both Jake and Zach were extremely professional in both their interactions with me and I was impressed with their promptness and the level of detail in their report that was sent to me. Thank you for saving me money on potentially expensive repairs that I do not have time to address! Anyone in their area, please utilize them for pre-purchase inspections, they are incredibly prompt, professional, and thorough! 5 Stars!

These folks are great--friendly, professional, helpful. I took a lawn mower in to be fixed. They told me the engine was shot. I went in a while ago for an issue with my air conditioning, and thanks to a short notice road trip the next day, needed it done overnight. They were super accommodating, affordable, professional and kind on top of having it repaired in time for me. Also, when I went to pick it up I got to play with a puppy in the waiting room! They were able to find the reason for the noise my car was making, and fixed it. (Wheel bearings) Very knowledgeable, they knew the problem before they even drove it. They gave me a quote quickly and that was exactly what I paid when they were done. The even replaced a small part that was broken for free. Nice, friendly staff. I will be back for sure.

Zack at Ace is a rock star in my apinion! I have had a leek on my 1994 Chevy van that 3 other auto shops could not fixwithin 30 min he found the problem and fixed it! I brought in an older model mazda with AC problems for a diagnosis. Zach was very professional and was able to to get to it the same day. After significant time they spent diagnosing, it turns out that the AC issues would be more costly to fix than I'm willing to spend on this older car, but they were honest and up-front with what they believe the problems are. The cost factor is not because they are overcharging- it's just that AC systems are expensive. I would definitely bring my cars here in the future.

We had some major repairs that needed to be done to an older vehicle before we could take it on a lengthy vacation. The guys at Ace Auto Repair did an awesome job!! They identified and fixed all the problems including axle and engine repairs. We were able to go on a 4000 mile vacation with confidence that our car would be able to make it and during that 2 week trip we had no problems. Zack and the staff were professional, friendly and helpful. They work on Saturday, which allowed me to get my truck serviced without having to take off of work. They were knowledgeable about the radiator/engine cooling system and cared about not doing unnecessary work-and keeping the cost down. They checked out my radiator/cooking system, emptying it and pressurizing it for leaks, for $60! They also explained things well so that evidence I could understand.

Took our car in to Ace Auto yesterday and couldn't be happier with the service! We got an oil change and had them find out why our check engine light keeps going on and off. Turns out we needed to get a gas cap replaced. Zach told us that it is a common issue with Hyundais and that it was almost a massive recall! So glad he was so informed on the issue!We loved how friendly everyone at the shop was and how they really wanted to make sure you were getting the best deal for your money. Hands down, the best mechanics in Utah by far. Plus significantly cheaper than the local Ken Garff dealership!! We will definitely be taking our car to Ace Auto only!

I had a chainsaw that I needed repaired. I consider myself a very mechanically inclined person, but I got in a little over my head. Prior to going to Ace, I went to Mower Medic in S. jordan and was told that they wouldn't even be able to look at it for three weeks!!! (So, what, get in line?) I took the saw to Ace later that evening. They had my chainsaw repaired in less than 24hrs, and at a lower price then was quoted to me! I am thoroughly impressed at the service I received, and their 6pm closing time is a must for any 9-5er! I will never go to Mower Medic ever again. For jobs I can't do myself, I'll be going to Ace from here on out. For everything.

Fast friendly service. Great price and quality service. My car stopped working one evening and I didn't have a mechanic I usually go to. Based off reviews (like the one I am writing) I called Ace and they scheduled a tow truck to come get my car. They called after diagnosing the problem and got it fixed that day. They didn't push anything else or try and get me to do anything more on my car. These are my new "go-to-guys" for car repairs.

I had a great experience taking my vehicle to ace auto. They are up front on their prices and have no hidden fees. I needed my window regulator/motor replaced and they were able to give me a quote for the price of parts and labor. They were able to replace it the same day and it worked great. I also had them do a scan on my check engine light. They were very educated on the type of engine I had (honda vtec) and were able to suggest the specific maintenance needed for the vague vtech error code. It was a great experience and they have an awesome, friendly, experienced, and proffessional staff.

Jake and the team at Ace Auto were amazing to work with. I have always taken my van to the dealer to be worked on because my husband prefers Honda certified mechanics and parts. However, when we discovered we could save $400 on the timing belt by going to Ace, we were willing to make the switch. We are sold! Everyone was so friendly, helpful, and HONEST. They even told us the engine mount the dealer said needing fixing didn't need replacing. Ace is our new mechanic. We will never overpay for repairs that don't need to be made again! Thank you ACE!

After taking my wife's car to the dealership for a dealer recall they found that the SRS module was bad. Come to find out they never even checked what it was and gave us a quote of 2000 dollars. I decided to call Jake and he took it in and diagnosed the problem and found it was a seat belt latch. 264.00 dollars later SRS light is off and problem fixed. Thanks Jake for your dedication to find out what was really wrong.

We had quite a bit of work done here on one of our vehicles. They diagnosed things pretty quickly and were reasonably quick with their work. When we got our car back, there was still an issue. They had replaced the spark plugs, but the car was shuddering and idling funny while on the road. We took it back and they said that they had installed a spark plug with a crack in the porcelain. They replaced it without cost. But the car was still shuddering. We took it back a 3rd time and they determined that the ignition wires were faulty. So they replaced those, which cost us, and it has been fine since.They were relatively quick, with a decent priceI was a little disappointed with inability to diagnose the ignition wire issue the first or second time, and how many times we had to go back.

What a great shop! I had a nightmare problem I was trying to fix myself in extracting 2 rusted and broken studs from a rusty housing. Several shops turned down the job, but Ace Auto said no problem and after giving me 2 options on fixing it, they took care of the problem. Very professional, polite, and most of all honest.

It's one thing to find a good mechanic, it's quite unheard of to find an honest, upfront and fair mechanic... I have found the unheard of mechanic at Ace Auto. I've always had a difficult time finding a repair shop that I felt like I could go back to... until now. It was sheer luck or fate that brought be here. Since I'm a girl, I was very hesitant. The first thing that I noticed was how clean the shop was. Not even Jiffy Lube is this clean. The staff has been great. They communicate clearly what is going on. When I ask questions, they don't just explain the pros and cons of what they are suggesting, but they show me what's going on. On top of everything, they go out of their way to save me money. As long as I live within a good range of this shop, all of my car repairs will be done here. I'm glad to finally find a shop that I can count on.

I took my van into Ace Auto and was very impressed with the whole experience. They were honest about what needed to be done to my van when my prior mechanic had said that a part had to be replaced that didn't.I felt that they made the experience a bit more personal. I ran into a large ice block that caused my radiator to leak all the radiator fluid. I thought for sure I'd broken my radiator. After assessing the problem, I was told my radiator was fine and I just needed to replace an inexpensive part. I count it a great blessing to find an honest mechanic. 5 Stars for Ace Repair.
